My name is Charles Rubinoff. You may remember me from such blogs as calrockx.com and calrockx.blogspot.com. Welcome to my new (and improved!) blog at redical.net. I had writings all over the internets—my old personal site, the Blogspot site I used for my Europe blog, and Myspace—and I thought why not consolidate those into one easy-to-manage site. So I did just that.

Why maintain a blog?
I will mostly use this site to document my travels. Along with photos, I believe writing helps to best remember the experience. This site will be the place to record my thoughts whilst on the trip and upon return. Another topic I’ll blog about is music. Lately, in an effort to record every concert attend, I snap a quick picture during the performance. I’ll use this blog to hold that collection of images. Additionally, well, everything else is fair game for this blog. I don’t believe in writing about the minutiae of daily life on a blog; that’s what Twitter is for anyway. But there will be various subjects I’d like to explore, and this is the blog for those ideas. Sound incredibly open-ended? That’s the idea. I don’t have anything planned right now, but hooray for this being flexible to accommodate whatever content I conjure up.

What’s with the name?
Well, I like red. And things that are radical. Really, I was just looking for something new. While I still use calrockx, I wanted something fresh. So I devised this silly, fun word. And hey, it shares the “cal” from calrockx, so there’s my love for California represented once again.

So there you go. This site is supposed to be fun and just a place for me to share with friends and family. Feel free to comment around the site and let me know what you think. Cheers.
